3 injured after strong winds lift hot air balloon in Richland Township, Pa.

RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPVI) -- Three people were injured after strong winds lifted the hot air balloon they were in at a carnival in Richland Township, Pennsylvania.

Witnesses say it became unstable as crews prepared to take passengers for a ride.

A sudden gust lifted the balloon into the air, sending a crew member holding a rope about 15-feet off the ground before he fell.

The basket was also dragged across the pavement with passengers inside.
